Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing a client portfolio with a focus on:

  • Account administration
    • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts
    • Developing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
  • Compliance & reporting
    • Supporting VAT compliance
    • Bookkeeping
    • Management reporting
  • Client relationship management
    • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
    • Identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities
  • Team leadership
    • Reviewing and supporting junior members' work
  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Working closely with accounting, tax and advisory services teams
  • Portfolio & financial management
    • Monitoring work-in-progress (WIP)
    • Managing billing & portfolio performance
  • Strategic support
    • Assisting with business planning, forecasting and funding projects (when required)

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Experience independently managing a client portfolio
  • Confidence in reviewing and supporting junior team members
  • Strong knowledge of accounts and tax compliance
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commercial mindset with an interest in advisory services
