Client Manager Role

Location: Daventry or Rugby

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £50k - £60k DEO

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Client Manager to join a growing accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional who enjoys working closely with clients, leading a team, and providing a high standard of accounting, tax, and advisory services.

As Client Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted adviser while ensuring compliance work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will review work prepared by the wider team, identify opportunities to add value, and build long-lasting client relationships.

The Role

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients, becoming their main point of contact and developing a strong understanding of their businesses and objectives.
  • Overseeing the delivery of accounts and tax compliance.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice and identifying opportunities to support clients as their businesses grow.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members, ensuring high technical standards are maintained while coaching and developing the team.
  • Managing workflow, prioritising deadlines, and working closely with colleagues to ensure an excellent level of service is delivered across the practice.
  • Contributing to the continued growth of the business by identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships and supporting wider business development initiatives where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for an experienced and client-focused professional who enjoys building strong relationships and delivering excellent service. You'll be confident managing your own portfolio, leading a team, and providing practical, commercially focused advice.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, tax compliance, and business advisory services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • A proactive, commercial approach and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
