Senior New Business Leader – Banking & Financial Markets
Location: Hybrid (London) Business Unit: Banking & Financial Markets
About the Role
At CGI, we are expanding our Banking & Financial Markets business to secure and grow strategic relationships across the UK and Asia. As a senior new business leader, you will drive measurable growth by:
- Opening doors and cultivating high-value, multi-service engagement opportunities
- Positioning CGI as a trusted transformation partner by combining consulting, managed services, and IP-led solutions
- Addressing critical industry challenges through innovative and scalable solutions

Your Key Responsibilities
You will be accountable for acquiring, converting, and leading enterprise Banking & Financial Markets clients, driving 6–7 figure multi-service engagements. Key areas include:

Lead & Convert
✔ Acquire new logo enterprise clients in Banking & Financial Markets ✔ Lead consultative sales campaigns that transition into sustainable, profitable engagements
Shape & Position
✔ Build market credibility through thought leadership, industry forums, and tailored account-based campaigns ✔ Align CGI’s global capabilities with measurable client outcomes
Target & Engage
✔ Define ideal client profiles, map buying centres, and multi-thread relationships with senior stakeholders
Generate & Govern
✔ Maintain 3×–4× qualified pipeline coverage ✔ Ensures accurate forecasting & CRM discipline
Discover & Design
✔ Lead client discovery sessions, co-create value-led solutions ✔ Shape commercial constructs that address critical business needs
Collaborate & Orchestrate
✔ Align Consulting, Delivery, Legal, Finance, and Alliance partners for compelling joint propositions ✔ Foster cross-functional collaboration to close complex deals
Coach & Elevate
✔ Promote high-performance new business practices across the team
Own & Deliver
✔ Accountable for bookings, margin, and risk governance
Required Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you must be a proven enterprise sales specialist with labour-intensive performance in Banking & Financial Markets, demonstrating:

Proven Enterprise Sales Track Record
✅ Strong track record of acquiring new-logo enterprise clients in Banking & Financial Markets ✅ Consistent 100%+ new business quota achievement, including 6–7 figure deal closures
C-Suite & Multi-Stakeholder Engagement
✅ Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles ✅ Board-level consulting & strategic advisory acumen
Sector Specialisation & Commercial Focus
✅ Domain expertise in at least two of:
- Digital banking
- Payments modernisation
- Core banking transformation
- Data & AI
- Cloud & cybersecurity
- Risk & compliance
- Operational resilience
- Capital markets technology
Consultative Selling Skills
✅ Demonstrated expertise in:
- Client discovery processes
- Business case development
- Proposal leadership
Sales Governance & Negotiation
✅ Proficient in applying structured sales methodologies (e.g., Shipley) ✅ Excellent negotiation, pitching, and financial modelling skills
