Help ambitious businesses achieve their potential.
At Stryde, we believe finance should be a catalyst for growth, not just a reporting function.
We partner with ambitious SMEs across the UK, providing strategic CFO and Finance Director support that helps business owners make better decisions, improve profitability and scale with confidence.
Alongside our strategic finance offering, we also deliver a full suite of professional accounting services, including bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, tax compliance and payroll. This means our clients benefit from a single, integrated finance partner that supports every stage of their business journey—from day-to-day financial operations through to board-level strategic advice.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Fractional CFO / Finance Director to join our expanding team in a permanent, full-time employed position.
While you'll work as the dedicated CFO or Finance Director for a portfolio of clients, this is not a freelance, interim or self-employed consulting opportunity. You'll be a valued member of the Stryde team, working alongside our accountancy, bookkeeping and payroll specialists to deliver an integrated finance service that supports our clients at every stage of their journey.
This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic financial leadership with hands-on technical expertise. You'll become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of clients, helping them navigate growth while remaining close enough to the detail to ensure finance functions operate efficiently and accurately.
You'll work closely with our accountancy and payroll teams to ensure clients receive a seamless, high-quality service across every aspect of their finance function.
If you enjoy variety, thrive on building long-term client relationships and are excited by technology and AI, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Client Portfolio CFO / Finance Director, you'll manage your own portfolio of SME clients, becoming an integral part of their leadership teams.
You'll provide strategic financial leadership while remaining willing and able to support every aspect of the finance function—from bookkeeping and management accounts through to statutory accounts and tax compliance where required.
No two days are the same, and no two clients are the same.
You'll become a trusted adviser, commercial sounding board and financial leader for ambitious businesses across a wide range of sectors, helping them make confident decisions backed by meaningful financial insight.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strategic financial leadership with practical delivery. While you'll spend time in the boardroom advising clients, you'll also be happy to roll up your sleeves whenever required to ensure every client receives exceptional support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
