Client Project Manager
Client Project Manager – Pensions Industry
Isio is seeking an experienced Client Project Manager with deep expertise in the pensions industry. You will have a strong track record of leading complex client projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
About the Role
The Pensions Project Management Team sits within the Actuarial & Consulting service line as part of Isio's broader Projects team. In this position, you will:
- Lead high-profile, strategic client projects across all service lines nationwide
- Take the lead as a Client Project Manager on complex, bespoke client-facing projects
- Manage project management capability and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
This role focuses on several critical areas, including:
- GMPe projects, working closely with the GMPe Programme Director
- Data transformation collaborations with Isio’s Pension Administration and Operational Solutions
- Insurance transactions (including buy-ins and buy-outs)
Your responsibilities will typically encompass:

Client projects/strategy
- Drive, define, and manage project strategy and the full project lifecycle across multiple clients
- Include set-up, planning, stakeholder management, progress reporting, and project closure

Stakeholder management
- Build lasting relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership
- Influence decision-making and guide strategic direction
- Engage with Business Development (pitches, proposals, and client opportunities)

Team management
- Develop team members, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure clarity in communication

- Support prioritisation by the central programme team

Financial management
- Manage Work in Progress (WIP), prepare fees/invoices and control budgets

Proposition development
- Ensure offerings remain customer-centric, competitive, and aligned with market trends

Capability development
- Champion best practices in project management, mentor junior staff, and refine methodologies

Business Development
- Actively support RFPs, pitches, and proposals,identifying future opportunities
Requirements
- Core expertise in delivering complex client projects within the pensions industry
- Proven ability to handle multiple high-value engagements simultaneously
- A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills—capable of representing Isio at high-level client forums
- IT literacy—familiarity with MS Office Suite (including MS Project) and project management tools
- Ability to work independently and provide clear leadership to others
- Professional qualifications—Association for Project Management (APM) PMQ or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) a strong preference
