Client Project Manager
Client Project Manager – Pensions
We are seeking an experienced Client Project Manager with deep expertise in the pensions industry. You will have a strong track record of leading complex client projects and influencing at a senior level.
About the Role
The Pensions Project Management Team sits within the Actuarial & Consulting service line and as part of our broader Projects team. You will:
- Lead high-profile, strategic client projects nationwide
- Work closely with senior leaders across all service lines
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders while delivering projects
This position offers the opportunity to take the lead as a Client Project Manager on complex, bespoke client-facing projects while also:
- Performance-managing project teams and guiding project managers
- Shaping the evolution of project management capabilities
- DELIVERING RESULTS ON KEY INITIATIVES, including GMPe (Guaranteed Minimum Pension Enhancement) projects, aligning with the GMPe Programme Director
You will also collaborate with Isio’s Pension Administration and Operational Solutions teams on:
- Data transformation projects
- Insurance transactions (including buy-ins and buy-outs)
Typical Responsibilities May Include:
- Client Projects & Strategy
- Drive, define, and manage project strategy and the entire project life cycle
- Oversee initiation, planning, stakeholder communication, progress reporting, risk control, and closure for multiple high-complexity clients simultaneously

Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership
- INFLUENCE strategically in decision-making while providing guidance
- Engage in business development opportunities, pitches, and client proposals

Team Management
- Develop team members and foster a high-performance culture
- Ensure clear communication to enhance collaboration

Resource & Financial Management
- Assist in resource assignment and prioritisation for central programmes
- Manage work-in-progress (WIP), fees, invoicing, and budget vs. actual tracking

Proposition Development & Capability Growth
- Lead the evolution of our solutions, ensuring they remain competitive, client-centric, and market-aligned
- Advocate for best practices in project management
- Mentor junior team members and refine methodologies and frameworks
Requirements
- Experience delivering high-value pensions industry projects with an ability to manage simultaneous, complex engagements
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and balancing competing priorities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, confident in representing Isio at executive client forums
- IT proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project) and project management tools
- Ability to work autonomously while reinforcing team leadership
- Preferred professional qualifications (e.g., APM PMQ or ChPP – Chartered Project Professional)
