Client Project Manager
Client Project Manager – Pensions Industry (Critical Hire)
We are seeking an experienced Client Project Manager with deep expertise in the pensions industry. You will bring a strong track record of leading complex client projects and demonstrated influence at a senior level.
The Pensions Project Management team operates within Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting service line as part of our broader Projects team. You will lead high-profile, strategic client projects while collaborating with senior leaders across all service lines nationwide.
This role offers an exceptional opportunity to:
- Take full responsibility for Client Project Management across complex, bespoke engagements.
- Performance manage junior project supporters and evolve Isio’s project management frameworks.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across organizational teams.
Key Areas of Focus
1. GMPe (Guaranteed Minimum Pension Enhancement) & Data Transformation
Work closely with the GMPe Programme Director to deliver project outcomes. Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting Isio’s Pension Administration and Operational Solutions teams in data transformation initiatives.
- Handling insurance transactions, including buy-ins and buy-outs.
2. Core Responsibilities
Your role spans the full project lifecycle and includes:
- Client projects/strategy: Define and manage multi-faceted project strategies for concurrent engagements, overseeing setup, planning, stakeholder reporting, and project closure.
- Stakeholder management: Build and sustain relationships with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership, influencing decision-making and contributing to business development initiatives (pitches, proposals).
- Team management: Develop high-performing colleagues and foster strong internal communication.
- Resource management: Collaborate with central programme teams to optimise resource allocation.
- Financial management: Monitor workload in progress (WIP), prepare payments/invoices, and align budgets with actual costs.
- Proposition development: Lead ongoing refinement of client offerings, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and Isio’s strategic priorities.
- Capability development: Champion innovative project management methods, mentor junior team members, and refine frameworks.
- Business development: Actively participate in RFPs, pitches, and proposals, identifying new clients and growth opportunities.

Requirements
- Industry expertise: Proven background managing high-value, complex pensions projects and overseeing multiple concurrent engagements.
- Leadership & influence: Strong ability to direct cross-functional teams and align competing priorities with senior stakeholder alignment.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation skills and confidence representing Isio at high-level client meetings.
- Technical literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project) and familiar with project management tools.
- Autonomy & adaptability: Ability to work independently while providing mentorship and direction.
- Preferable qualifications:
- Association for Project Management (APM PM℠) or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).
