Client Relationship Manager – Defence & Aerospace Recruitment
Location: Manchester (onsite 4 days per week)
Company: Cubiq Recruitment
Sector focus: Defence, Aerospace and Advanced Engineering
We’re looking for an ambitious Account Manager to join Cubiq Recruitment and take ownership of a portfolio of high-value defence and aerospace accounts. This is an opportunity to build long-term relationships with some of the most recognisable names in advanced engineering, supporting clients who are shaping the future of aviation, space, security and mission-critical technology.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and expanding key accounts, understanding client hiring challenges, and ensuring Cubiq delivers high-quality talent against live vacancies. You’ll work closely with clients across defence and aerospace, including major primes and engineering organisations, helping them secure the technical specialists they need across highly regulated, security-conscious environments — including SC and DV cleared talent where required.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and developing key defence and aerospace accounts, building trusted relationships with hiring managers, talent teams and senior stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts by increasing vacancy flow, broadening relationships and positioning Cubiq as a strategic recruitment partner.
- Taking detailed vacancy briefs and translating them into clear delivery plans for specialist technical recruitment assignments.
- Working closely with delivery consultants to ensure shortlists are accurate, timely and aligned to client expectations.
- Maintaining regular client communication, providing market insight, candidate feedback and progress updates throughout the recruitment process.
- Supporting delivery across roles spanning engineering, systems, software, embedded, electronics, quality, manufacturing, project management and related technical disciplines, with a focus on identifying and engaging SC and DV cleared candidates for sensitive defence programmes.
- Representing Cubiq professionally in a sector where accuracy, credibility, discretion and pace matter.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
