Client Relationship Manager
Client Relationship Manager – Global Growth
Sonata One is a rapidly scaling, regulated fund services and technology (fintech) business. As the Private Funds Clearinghouse, we connect more than 53,000 investors with 6,500 funds and 180 fund managers worldwide. Our mission is to harmonise the end-to-end investment process within one platform, providing a seamless, one & done experience for investors—from selection and subscription through to settlement and reporting—underpinned by a globally compliant KYC passport and 24/5 support.
By raising capital faster and at a lower cost, we empower fund managers to access a wider pool of pre-approved investors. Founded in 2015, Sonata One operates across -eight global locations, including the US, UK, Luxembourg, Guernsey, South Africa, and Mauritius.

We are now seeking an experienced Client Relationship Manager to join our global team and shape the future of private markets investing.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director – Global Growth, this revenue-generating role focuses on client relationship management, growth, and retention. The Client Relationship Manager will:
- Develop and expand existing client relationships, ensuring they drive maximum value from the platform.
- Collaborate closely with New Business, Partnerships, and Product teams to build trusted commercial relationships with key stakeholders across:
- Fund managers
- Institutional investors
- Leading figures in the private markets ecosystem
This is a critical opportunity to help Sonata One build a world-class commercial organisation and support our ambitious growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with assigned clients, positioning Sonata One as a trusted commercial advisor.
- Act as the primary commercial contact, ensuring a seamless and exceptional client experience.
- Align with each client’s business objectives to identify value-expansion opportunities through the platform.
- Conduct regular account reviews and strategic planning sessions.
- Collaborate with internal operational and product teams to ensure smooth client engagement.

Commercial Growth
- Cross-sell and upsell Sonata One’s products and services to realise account growth.
- Work with New Business and Partnerships teams to recognise and build on commercial opportunities.
- Develop long-term growth-focused account plans, including strategies for retention and revenue expansion.
- Support achieving commercial revenue targets by deepening existing client relationships.
Strategic Partnership & Collaboration
- Build deep relationships with senior stakeholders—including those at fund managers, administrators, and strategic partners.
- Partner with Marketing to develop tailored client engagement initiatives and industry.event strategies.
- Professionally represent Sonata One at client meetings, conferences, and networking events.
- Share market insights and client feedback to guide product development and future commercial strategy.
Performance & Account Management
- Monitor account health, engagement levels, and commercial performance across the portfolio.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and account plans.
- Identify retention risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Apply data-driven insights to continuously enhance account performance.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in private markets, fintech, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute innovative ideas to improve client experience and commercial effectiveness.
- Support the broader Commercial Development team in achieving Sonata One’s strategic ambitions.
Qualifications & Experience
We seek an experienced professional with:
- Proven expertise in Client Relationship Management, Strategic Account Management, or Customer Success, preferably in fintech, financial services, SaaS, or private markets.
- A strong commercial mindset, with a track record of identifying growth opportunities in existing accounts.
- Experience cultivating enterprise-level relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple high-stakes client relationships.
- Prior exposure to private markets, fund administration, asset management, or financial technology (highly advantageous).
- A consultative and solution-focused sales approach.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
