About the Role

bbd seeks an ambitious Client Services Director to lead our Client Services function and drive the agency’s future success.

Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you’ll be responsible for:

  • The growth, retention, and commercial performance of key client accounts.
  • Leading and developing a team of nine Client Services professionals, from Account Executives to Account Directors.
  • Shaping people strategy, proposition, growth initiatives, and agency direction as part of the Leadership Team.

This is not a hands-on account delivery role. Your focus will be on:

  • Building strong client relationships with senior executives.
  • Driving commercial growth and developing talent.
  • Creating conditions for excellence, ensuring great work succeeds.

You’ll work with B2B clients across cybersecurity, financial services, and insurance, ensuring our largest accounts continue to thrive.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a Client Services team (including Account Executives, Account Directors, and senior strategists).
  • Drive client retention, growth, and profitability across key accounts.
  • Own strategic Client Development Plans (CDPs) for our top accounts, aligning client goals with agency objectives.
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, going beyond project delivery.
  • Provide strategic commercial guidance aligned with client and agency goals.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical client opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to agency strategy, growth initiatives, and leadership decisions.
  • Champion efficient workflows, including the adoption of AI-driven tools to enhance service delivery.

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior Client Services leadership role within a B2B marketing agency.
  • Proven track record leading and developing teams across Account Executive, Manager, Senior Manager, and Director levels.
  • Managed 4+ direct reports with oversight of performance, progression, and succession planning.
  • Experience guiding teams through growth, change, and digital transformation.
  • Strong record of building & retaining strategic B2B accounts, with senior client engagement experience (including C-suite relationships).
  • Demonstrates expertise in commercial strategy, such as forecasting, profitability management, and account growth planning.
  • Familiarity with clients in cybersecurity, financial services, or insurance.
  • Leadership experience in contributing to agency strategy, business growth, and succession planning.
  • Understanding of AI tools, emerging technologies, and how they transform client service and agency operations.
