About The Role…

The Client Services Manager is responsible for driving growth within Ipsum’s 11kV ICP division by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across social housing, industrial and commercial (I&C), and EV infrastructure sectors. The role focuses on expanding Ipsum’s market presence, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring revenue and margin targets are achieved in line with the company’s strategic objectives.

As a Client Services Manager you will

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across housing developers, commercial clients, and EV infrastructure projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, IDNOs, and DNOs, ensuring Ipsum is seen as a trusted, knowledgeable partner.
  • Develop a clear and accurate sales pipeline through CRM, tracking opportunities from enquiry through to contract award.
  • Work closely with estimating, design, and delivery teams to prepare professional, commercially sound proposals that meet client needs.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and IDNO incentives to position Ipsum effectively and maximise win rates.
  • Partner with design, operations, and commercial teams to ensure handovers are clear and clients experience a smooth transition from tender to delivery.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and contribute to divisional budget planning.
  • Represent Ipsum at client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences to promote capability and build presence in target sectors.
  • Support the development of sales processes, marketing materials, and systems to improve efficiency

About You

  • Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business Sales and Marketing (or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Award or Certificate in Business Development / Sales Management (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Proven track record of business development within ICP, utilities, or electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience of selling HV/LV connection services, substation installations, or EV charging infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of ICP/IDNO frameworks, connection processes, and commercial models.
  • Demonstrable ability to build long-term client relationships and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Some experience in managing or mentoring others would be an advantage
