Job Description

We are seeking a Solutions Strategist to join our Client Solutions & Analytics (CS&A) team in London. Our team brings to bear PIMCO’s intellectual capital, resources and proprietary infrastructure to help our clients make better investment decisions.

Team Overview

Founded in 2009 as one of the industry’s first dedicated “Solutions” groups, we are a client-facing team partnering with a diverse range of clients across geographies and channels. The team focuses on generating actionable investment insights across several analytical lenses, including portfolio diagnostics, portfolio optimisations, and asset-liability modelling. We also develop macro-aware perspectives and cross-asset thought leadership. Insights are delivered through customised analysis and written research, supporting client discussions and informing strategic investment decisions.

Responsibilities

You will partner with the Account Management teams to directly engage with clients, understand their investment objectives and design solutions to meet their needs. The role requires a solid understanding of all major asset classes and how they interact in a portfolio. A part of the role will involve designing investment solutions for institutional clients, particularly pension schemes. However, the remit of the role will be larger and will evolve over time, based on the candidate’s background and broader business needs.

The key mandates can be summarised as follows:

  • Leverage PIMCO’s investment management capabilities to advise clients: deploy PIMCO’s technology, views and intellectual capital to help clients and prospects (e.g. CIOs, CEOs, Boards, Investment teams, Investment consultants, etc) with the macro issues of investment management, such as asset allocation and risk management
  • Partner with Account Management teams to develop and directly present to clients / prospects customised portfolio analyses, in order to propose actionable fixed income, multi-asset and hedging solutions, across public and private markets
  • For Defined Benefit pension schemes, incorporate liability-aware considerations into asset allocation, including LDI and CDI strategies, to align portfolios with liabilities, cashflow needs, and long-term objectives.
  • Become a trusted investment advisor to help PIMCO further enhance the servicing of its clients, and support business development initiatives
  • Generate industry-leading thought leadership, leveraging CS&A’s infrastructure and asset allocation expertise
  • Utilise AI-enabled tools to streamline processes, enhance insights, and support the more efficient and scalable delivery of client analyses

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
