CLIENT SUPPORT ACCOUNTANT

Role Overview

You will be a trusted partner to our property managers and clients, ensuring estates are financially well run, transparent and compliant. Blending your accounting expertise with a service mindset, you will manage client money, service charge budgets and reporting with accuracy and care.

In this role you will safeguard the financial health of a varied portfolio, resolve queries promptly, and communicate clearly with internal teams, suppliers and residents. Your professionalism and attention to detail will help developments run smoothly and give stakeholders confidence in the numbers.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Most days you will be preparing, reconciling and reporting on client and service charge accounts, supporting property managers with timely, accurate financial insight. You will handle queries, chase information, liaise with suppliers, and keep systems and records up to date. Expect a blend of focused accounting work and collaborative problem-solving with your colleagues.

  • Service charge accounts, budgets and year-end packs delivered on time and right first time.
  • Clean reconciliations with minimal aged items and swift resolution of discrepancies.
  • Clear, proactive communication that builds trust with clients, residents and suppliers.
  • Helpful insight for property managers that informs decisions and improves estate performance.
  • Well-organised workload with deadlines met and priorities managed calmly.
  • Continuous improvements identified and implemented to streamline processes and controls.

How You'll Spend Most Of Your Time

  • Preparing and reconciling client bank accounts and service charge funds.
  • Producing, reviewing and updating service charge budgets and forecasts.
  • Creating year-end statements, audit files and supporting documentation.
  • Investigating variances, resolving queries and posting journals and accruals.
  • Managing supplier invoices, payments and allocations in line with controls.
  • Preparing regular financial reports and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.

Experience That Helps

  • Experience in client accounting within property, housing or a similar multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of the service charge lifecycle, from budgeting to year-end.
  • Strong reconciliations background, with good Excel skills and comfort with finance systems.
  • Exposure to audit preparation, VAT considerations and supplier payment processes.
  • Handling finance queries from multiple stakeholders and resolving them quickly.

About Hillcrest Estate Management

Hillcrest Estate Management supports residential developments across the South West from our Bristol base.

Working across a range of estates, our team manages everything from service charge budgets and compliance through to maintenance and resident engagement, ensuring developments are well run and consistently maintained.

For those joining the business, we offer the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio within a supportive team, where there is structure in place but also the flexibility to manage your role effectively.
