About the Opportunity
You’ll work as part of the Architecture team within EY Client Technology’s Technology Strategy and Architecture (TS&A) function, defining and delivering cutting-edge architectures and designs for business-critical global products and platforms. Your role requires expertise in reusability, scalability, and reliability while aligning with EY’s mission and strategy.
Your Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Roadmapping
- Build cross-functional relationships to understand business requirements, strategy, and product roadmaps.
- Demonstrate architecture leadership by translating business needs into innovative, practical high-level and low-level blueprints.
End-to-End Ownership
- Own the technology, architecture, and design landscape of a product/platform from solutioning to delivery, adoption, and sale.
- Lead a team of architects (potentially hundreds of users across varied environments) as the lead architect, setting technical direction and ensuring end-to-end delivery.
- Provide constant architecture governance, guidance, and reviews to maintain alignment with enterprise standards.
Solutions Innovation
- Solve complex problems where solutions may not yet exist, ideating and incubating new approaches, technologies, and ways of working.
- Conduct vendor evaluations, proofs of concept (with hands-on execution), and technical feasibility analysis.
- Present recommendations to business stakeholders with clear technical justification.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, platform, infosec) to deliver optimized architectures while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards, policies, and guidelines.
Reusable Architecture Assets
- Define and promote standards, reusable functional, and technical assets (e.g., frameworks, microservices).
- Assist product and project managers in planning, forecasting, estimation, and cost balancing for products/platforms.
- Mentor and coach development teams, ensuring architectural alignment through **code/architecture reviews and quality gates.

Key Skills & Attributes for Success

Leadership: Proven global team governance expertise in large-scale (thousands of users) architectures, from planning to support/operations.

Hands-on Architecture: Deep expertise in solution and technical architecture (application, cloud, integration, data, security).
- Skilled in native cloud, full-stack app, data, AI technologies, modern cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Comfortable with Agile, DevSecOps, automation, and legacy systems.

Technical Depth:
- Expertise in distributed/scalable architectures with containers, cloud services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
- Programming/scripting languages: JavaScript, .NET, Java, Python, C++.
- Databases: SQL/NoSQL, Big Data, analytics, machine learning.
- Security: Industry-standard authentication/authorization technologies (prefer Microsoft/Azure-based).

Strategic Communication:
- Translate technical complexity into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
- Must facilitate stakeholder consensus and negotiate technical conflicts.

Collaboration:
- Strong interpersonal skills for global, distributed teams; able to partner across time zones.
- Solve problems creatively, balancing cost/risk/quality.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent.
- Experience: 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years as a solution/technical architect (specialized in cloud, integration, security, or AI).
- Certifications: Prefer industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF®, Microsoft Azure, AWS, CISSP, Pivotal, or ITIL®).
- Technologies:
- Hands-on experience with low-code/no-code, GenAI, data governance, cloud-native security, and mobile solutions.
- Expertise in data analytics, AI/ML, and event-driven architectures.
