Climate Data Specialist (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your deep expertise in climate science could directly shape how AI understands one of the most critical challenges facing our planet? We're looking for environmental science specialists to develop advanced, real-world problems in climate modeling, ecology, and sustainability — problems that will be used to train and sharpen the next generation of AI models.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and scientists who want to apply their expertise in a high-impact, forward-looking way. If you hold a Master's or PhD in environmental science or a related field and you're ready to put your knowledge to work beyond the lab, this role is for you.

What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with genuine real-world relevance
- Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to craft complex, rigorous problem statements
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance how AI reasons through scientific challenges
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, depth, and methodological soundness
- Ensure scientific rigor, clarity, and intellectual depth across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Fluent in Python or R — you've used code as part of your research or projects
- Deep expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, or sustainability science
- Exceptional written communicator who can translate complex scientific concepts with clarity and precision
- Detail-oriented and rigorous — you hold your work to a high standard
- Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
- Background in interdisciplinary environmental research spanning multiple domains
- Familiarity with AI tools or scientific content evaluation platforms
- Experience reviewing or peer-reviewing scientific work
