Climate Data Specialist (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in climate science, ecology, or environmental modeling could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about the planet's most pressing challenges? We're looking for Climate Data Specialists — environmental scientists with advanced degrees — to help build and train cutting-edge AI models by developing rigorous, real-world scientific problems.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for researchers and practitioners who want to put their deep domain knowledge to work in a new and impactful way. Training support is provided — no prior AI experience needed.

What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with real-world relevance — from climate modeling to ecological systems
- Apply your expertise in climate science, ecology, sustainability, or related fields to create complex, scientifically rigorous problem statements
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance AI model reasoning and accuracy
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for depth, accuracy, and methodological soundness
- Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific clarity and rigor
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Proficient in Python or R for research, data analysis, or scientific computing
- Deep expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or environmental data analysis
- Exceptional written communicator — able to articulate complex scientific concepts with precision and clarity
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and committed to scientific accuracy
- Fluent in English

Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
- Background in interdisciplinary environmental research spanning multiple subject areas
- Familiarity with large-scale environmental datasets or geospatial analysis tools
- Experience reviewing or publishing peer-reviewed scientific work
