Climate Resilience Global Leadership Manager
Join Haskoning and help shape the future of climate resilience worldwide. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategy, business development, client engagement, and thought leadership, focused on growing our global position in flood, coastal and water resilience, and climate advisory.
About the Role
As the Climate Resilience Global Leadership Manager (GLM) Lead, you’ll drive Haskoning’s global market approach and growth, combining strategic leadership, business development, client engagement, and external representation. This role will strengthen our market position, develop new opportunities, and ensure we continue delivering meaningful impact for clients and communities.
At Haskoning, climate resilience is rooted in water—delivering practical, large-scale solutions in flood risk management, coastal resilience, and integrated water systems, with climate advisory to help clients shape strategy and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Shape Global Market Strategy
- Define and evolve Haskoning’s global approach to climate resilience, ensuring focus on the right markets, clients, and opportunities.
- Set strategic direction and strengthen our global positioning.
- Identify priority markets, sectors, and clients.
- Translate market, policy, and investment trends into actionable market insights, value propositions, and growth plans.
Drive Growth and Business Development
- Build a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities and support major pursuits.
- Develop winning strategies and client engagement approaches.
- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to convert opportunities into successful projects.

Develop Strategic Client Relationships
- Engage with key clients, investors, and industry partners at senior levels.
- Support key account strategies for major clients.
- Align client needs and market demands with our services and innovation.
Lead Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership
- Act as Haskoning’s external ambassador for climate resilience.
- Increase visibility through events, partnerships, and publications.
- Establish our leadership in priority markets.
Connect Expertise Globally
- Build and connect Haskoning’s global Climate Resilience community.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across regions and disciplines.
- Support development of market-aligned future capabilities.
Location and Commitments
- The role will be based in either the Netherlands (NL) or the UK, with mandatory international travel throughout the year.
- Reports directly to the Strategy Director – Water & Maritime.
Your Profile
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience in a strategic, commercial, or business development leadership role, ideally within global consulting or engineering.
- A strong background in climate resilience, particularly flood/coastal and water management or related infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in business development, market expansion, and winning complex, high-value opportunities.
- An extensive external network across clients, partners, and investors.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex multinational environments and influence senior stakeholders.
- A highly commercial, client-focused mindset with proven ability to translate strategy into business impact.
- A desire to travel internationally as required.

Education:
- Degree in civil engineering, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in either the Netherlands or the UK.
