This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategy, business development, client engagement, and thought leadership—focussed on growing our global position in flood, coastal and water resilience and climate advisory.
### About the Role
As Climate Resilience GLM Lead, you will drive Haskoning’s global market approach and growth by combining strategic leadership, business development, client engagement, and external representation to:
- Strengthen our market position
- Develop new opportunities
- Deliver meaningful impact for clients and communities
At Haskoning, climate resilience is rooted in water, delivering practical, large-scale solutions in:
- Flood risk management
- Coastal resilience
- Integrated water systems
- Climate advisory to shape strategy and investment decisions
### Responsibilities
Shape Our Global Market Strategy
- Define and evolve our global approach to climate resilience, ensuring focus on the right markets, clients, and opportunities.
- Set strategic direction and strengthen our global positioning.
- Identify priority markets, sectors, and clients.
- Convert market, policy, and investment trends into clear market insights, value propositions, and growth plans.
Drive Growth & Business Development
- Build a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities and support major pursuits.
- Develop winning strategies and client engagement approaches.
- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to convert opportunities into projects.

Develop Strategic Client Relationships
- Engage with clients and partners at a senior level to strengthen market presence.
- Develop relationships with:
- Key clients
- Investors
- Public authorities
- Industry partners
- Align client needs and market demands with our services and innovation.
Lead Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Represent Haskoning externally as a trusted climate resilience adviser.
- Build visibility through events, partnerships, and publications.
- Position Haskoning in hub markets.
Connect Expertise Across Global Teams
- Foster collaboration in global Climate Resilience capabilities across regions and disciplines.
- Support development of future capabilities aligned with market needs.
### Where You’ll Work
Haskoning is an independent, employee-owned international consultancy offering engineering, design, consultancy, software, and technology services.
- Mission: "Enhancing Society Together"
- Impact: Purpose-driven projects transforming global challenges (e.g., climate resilience, decarbonisation).
- Team: 6,800+ employees across 25+ countries.
- Location: Base in Netherlands (NL) or United Kingdom (UK) with international travel required.
### Key Requirements
- Experience:
- Significant senior leadership in strategy, business development, or commercial growth (preferably in global consulting/engineering).
- Deep expertise in climate resilience, especially flood, coastal, or water management/infrastructure.

Track Record:
- Proven ability to develop markets, win complex projects, and influence senior stakeholders.

Networking & Dispositions:
- Strong external network (clients, investors, partners).
- Expertise in matrix environments; commercially-minded with a strong client focus.

Qualifications:
- Degree in civil engineering, environmental sciences, or related fields.
- Legal right to work in NL or UK.
