Climate Resilience Lead

Climate Resilience Lead – flood, coastal, and water resilience in the UK or NL

This highly visible leadership role combines strategy, business development, client engagement, and thought leadership to strengthen our position in flood risk management, coastal resilience, and integrated water systems.


About the Role

As Climate Resilience Lead, you will:

  • Drive global market growth by defining a climate resilience strategy.
  • Strengthen client relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Foster cross-regional collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Represent Haskoning as an industry thought leader in sustainable water management and climate adaptation.

Climate resilience at Haskoning is rooted in:

  • Practical, large-scale solutions for flood risk management.
  • Strategic climate advisory to shape client decisions.
  • A focus on integrated water systems and resilient infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Shape Global Market Strategy

  • Define and refine Haskoning’s global approach to climate resilience.
  • Identify high-potential markets, clients, and sectors based on market trends.
  • Convert policy, investment, and trend intelligence into actionable growth strategies.

Lead Business Development & Growth

  • Build and maintain a high-potential project pipeline.
  • Develop strategies for major pursuits and client engagement.
  • Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to convert opportunities into projects.

Engage Senior Clients & Partners

  • Foster long-term relationships with public authorities, investors, and industry partners.
  • Support key account strategies for major clients.
  • Ensure our services remain aligned with evolving client needs.

Location: Based in the Netherlands (NL) or United Kingdom (UK), with international travel required.

Reporting: Directly to the Strategy Director – Water & Maritime.


Requirements

  • Leadership experience in strategic, commercial, or business development roles, ideally within global consulting, engineering, or climate-focused sectors.
  • Proven track record in flood/coastal water management or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong external networks with clients, investors, and policymakers.
  • Highly commercial mindset, with the ability to drive tangible business growth.
  • Managing international collaboration, delivering on global team initiatives.
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Legal right to work in the UK or NL.
