Climate Resilience Lead – Haskoning (Global Role)
Join Haskoning and help shape the future of climate resilience worldwide. This is a highly visible leadership role, combining strategy, business development, client engagement, and thought leadership—focussed on growing our global position in flood, coastal and water resilience, and climate advisory.
About the Role
As Climate Resilience Lead, you will drive Haskoning’s global market approach and growth, combining strategic leadership, business development, client engagement, and external representation to strengthen our market position, develop new opportunities, and deliver meaningful impact for clients and communities.
At Haskoning, climate resilience is rooted in water, delivering practical, large-scale solutions in:
- Flood risk management
- Coastal resilience
- Integrated water systems
- Climate advisory (helping clients shape strategy and investment decisions)
Key Responsibilities
Shape Our Global Market Strategy
- Define and evolve the global climate resilience approach, ensuring alignment with key markets, clients, and opportunities.
- Set the strategic direction and strengthen global positioning.
- Identify priority markets, sectors, and clients.
- Turn market, policy, and investment trends into growth strategies, value propositions, and business plans.
Drive Growth & Business Development
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities.
- Support major project pursuits, developing winning client engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to convert opportunities into projects.
Develop Strategic Client Relationships
- Engage with senior clients, investors, and public authorities to strengthen market presence.
- Deliver key account strategies for major clients.
- Ensure client needs and market demands align with our services and innovations.

Lead Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Represent Haskoning externally as a trusted advisor in climate resilience.
- Build visibility through events, partnerships, and publications.
- Position Haskoning as a leader in priority markets.
Connect Expertise Globally
- Build a global Climate Resilience community, fostering collaboration.
- Share knowledge across regions and disciplines.
- Support future capability development aligned with market needs.
Where You’ll Work

- Location: Netherlands (NL) or United Kingdom (UK) – must have legal work rights
- Travel: Extensive international travel required.
What You Bring
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strategic/business development leadership (preferably in global consulting or engineering).
- Strong background in climate resilience, particularly:
- Flood and coastal management
- Water systems
- Climate advisory or related infrastructure sectors
- Proven track record in:
- Business development
- Market growth
- Winning high-value complex opportunities
- Global network spanning:
- Clients
- Partners
- Investors
- Ability to navigate complex international environments and influence stakeholders.
- Highly commercial mindset with a tangible client-results focus.
- Degree in:
- Civil engineering
- Environmental science, or related discipline
- Willingness to travel internationally.
