Clinical SACT Nurse – Patient-Focused Care Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate NMC registered nurse to join our healthcare team as the Clinical SACT Nurse. This nursing role involves delivering high-quality patient care, administering specialist medications (including subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous treatments), and supporting patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) or oncology treatments outside a traditional hospital setting.
The Clinical SACT Nurse will play a vital role in providing compassionate, independent, and safe patient care while empowering clients to manage their treatment more effectively.

The Role
As the Clinic Nurse for SACT patients, your role focuses on:

- Supporting patients who may struggle to visit hospital due to aging, disability, or vulnerability.
- Enhancing patient independence in treatment management while improving convenience.
🔹 Patient-focused care requirements
- Empathy, kindness, and compassionate communication with every patient and their families.
- Guiding patients to understand and progress safely in their treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Safety
- Conduct observations to determine if a patient is safe for treatment.
- Monitor and evaluate vital signs during treatments, reporting unusual changes immediately.

Medication Management
- Administer chemotherapy and other SACT treatments as prescribed.
- Administer subcutaneous (S/C), intramuscular (IM), or intravenous (IV) medicines with skilled precision.
- Maintain sterile techniques and clinical protocols without compromise.

Clinical & Social Support
- Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients and families.
- Educate patients (and carers) on treatment adherence, side effects, and independent administration where applicable.

Documentation & Compliance
- Record all clinical observations, actions, and data accurately.
- Strict adherence to NHS and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) regulations.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.

Collaboration
- Work closely with doctors, pharmacists, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Prioritise patient safety at all times with no conflict of interest.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you must: ✅ Hold current NMC registration (valid full practitioner registration). ✅ Have direct experience in administering subcutaneous (S/C), intramuscular (IM), or intravenous (IV) medications. ✅ Specialise in oncology or SACT clinical care – chemotherapy experience is mandatory. ✅ Demonstrate the ability to work self-reliantly and autonomously. ✅ Show meticulous attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy.

Salary, Benefits & Commitment
💵 Annual Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience).
