Clinical Budget Analyst

Clinical Budget Analyst

As a Clinical Budget Analyst at ICON, you will be the key resource to analyse various datasets to forecast and answer, “how much will this cost?”


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Utilise study protocol and fair market value databases to complete long-range budget and investigator grants forecasts
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor reports, including:
    • Quarterly budget reconciliations
    • Global spend transparency reporting
  • Lead 1-1 meetings with study team members and vendors to align on vendor costs, invoicing, and financial reconciliations
  • Spearhead the change control process for study design changes impacting the budget, including team buy-in and forecasting
  • Manage the close-out process for vendor budgets, including:
    • Final invoice reconciliations
    • Contract and purchase order updates
  • Monitor the financial health of studies, programs, or vendors, covering:
    • Project specifications
    • Units
    • Invoicing
    • Change orders
    • Forecasting
  • Liaise with finance as needed

Your Profile

You will have a strong foundation in pricing and investigator payments, with the experience to work independently and guide others.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree: BA/BS (Finance or Business preferred preferred is preferred)
  • Experience with: Clinical trial budgets or clinical trials
  • Critical thinking & attention to detail: Proven ability to manage these requirements
  • Database and dataset experience: Proficiency in operating across multiple databases, including those used in:
    • Operations
    • Outsourcing
    • Procurement
    • Fair market values
  • Excel proficiency: Advanced modelling and forecasting experience
  • Vendor budget review: Experience identifying cost drivers
  • Accounts payable systems: Experience with purchase orders and invoices
