Senior Clinical/Counselling/Health Psychologist – Coventry Community Health Psychological Service
About the Role
If you’re passionate about working with people living with long-term health conditions and those recently diagnosed, the Cov Coventry Community Health Psychological Service offers an exciting opportunity. Our team collaborates closely with nursing, therapy, and medical colleagues to provide psychological interventions for patients and carers.
Recent years have seen our community services refocus on a neighbourhood approach—ensuring services are more accessible, equitable, and integrated. Psychological care is a core element of this vision.
Where You’ll Fit In
You’ll be joining Psychological Services at UHCW, which delivers psychological support across UHCW, outpatients, and Coventry community health provision.陸vacancies ifalk for collaboration with colleagues across GEH (Greater East Midlands) and UHCW.
This role is particularly suited to newly qualified psychologists who would benefit from a preceptorship under an 8a (8-year accredited professional doctorate).
Key Responsibilities
- Work within an interdisciplinary team, including allied health professionals, nurses, and medics.
- Provide psychological assessment and treatment as part of Coventry Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT’s) and Urgent Care Services.
- Manage a caseload while supporting and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to meet the care needs of referred patients.
- Deliver specialist, evidence-based psychological interventions for complex cases, including detailed formulation and targeted treatments to enhance quality of life.
- Offer specialist advice and consultation to healthcare professionals and carers, applying research skills for audit, policy development, and service improvement.
- Work autonomously within the Trust’s framework, professional guidelines, and team policies.
- Follow defined care pathways and contribute to quality and activity monitoring.
- Support service enhancement through engagement with clinical governance structures.

Job Requirements
- Qualification: Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical/Counselling/Health Psychologist.
- Immunisations/Vaccinations: Proof provided for UK occupational health or GP records.
- **capability to work collaboratively and adhere to team-based interdisciplinary approaches_.
