Clinical Deputy Manager
Senior Nurse / Charge Nurse – St. Katharine’s Care Home

St. Katharine’s offers first-class care for residents with 89 beds. Conveniently located near Wantage Shopping Centre—regularly used for shopping trips—our home benefits from access to many local attractions.

Requisite Qualifications & Experience
For this position, candidates must provide:
- A caring and professional ethos
- Strong clinical background expertise
- Current up-to-date NMC pin
Responsibility & Accountability
- Provide clinical supervision to the Registered Nurse team.
- Ensure the Registered Nurse team obtains and sustains necessary clinical competencies to meet residents' needs.
- Act as Shift Team Leader, providing overall supervision and development for care staff.
- Train and mentor care staff, with a focus on role modelling positive behaviour.
- Actively participate in personal and professional development.
- Attend mandatory training as required.
- Ensure Gold Care standards and support systems are effectively implemented, leading to positive outcomes for service users.
- Monitor, audit, and review services.
- Take appropriate corrective action where needed.
- Uphold high professional standards and leadership principles.
- Maintain professional memberships.
- Assist the Home Manager in:
- Formal supervision/appraisals of staff, in compliance with company policy.
- Ongoing informal assessments to ensure high performance standards.
- Implement and adhere to:
- Gold Care policies and procedures
- Legal requirements
- Relevant codes of practice
- Help with:
- Effective recruitment, performance management, and staff deployment to provide high-quality care and support.
- Liaise with and oversee maintenance contractors for property, plant, and equipment upkeep.
- Promote Gold Care through communication with:
- Other organizations, stakeholders
- Staff, relatives, medical/regulatory professionals
- The local community
- Market the care home professionally to maintain:
- Private bed occupancy
- Corporate marketing success
- Emphasise excellent customer care to enhance lives and protect Gold Care’s reputation.
- Perform other duties as necessary for business needs.
