Clinical Deputy Manager – Registered Nurse
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE) Location: Full-time | Patcham Nursing Home, Brighton Hours: 40 hours per week (12 hours clinical leadership, 28 hours office-based management) Shift Pattern: Monday–Sunday, including alternate weekends and on-call rota

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Deputy Manager (Registered Nurse) to join our senior leadership team at Patcham Nursing Home.
This exciting senior role is perfect for a dedicated nurse looking to take the next step in their career, with direct responsibility for shaping exceptional clinical care within a high-quality, compassionate environment.
You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager, delivering strong clinical leadership, maintaining high standards of care, supporting team development, and ensuring every resident receives safe, person-centred care—every day.
About the Role
As Clinical Deputy Manager, you’ll be both a visible and approachable leader and a strategic partner to the Registered Manager, balancing:
- Clinical excellence (12 hours per week)
- Operational leadership (28 hours per week, office-based)
Your work will ensure:
- Residents and staff remain at the heart of our operations
- Compliance with CQC and regulatory standards is maintained
- Continuous quality improvement is driven across the home
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inspirational clinical leadership across the nursing home, validating our standards of excellence
- Maintain and continuously improve resident care quality, ensuring everyone receives patience, compassionated care that honours individual needs
- Support the Registered Manager in managing daily operations while delivering strong clinical oversight
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and uphold high-quality standards in all policies and practices
- Lead on clinical governance, care planning, assessments, documentation, and audits, identifying routes for improvement and quality initiatives
- Champion safeguarding, promoting best practice and protecting residents’ welfare
- Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering skills development and building strong, motivated teams
- Foster partnerships with residents’ families, GPs, and external healthcare professionals to support cohesive, coordinated care
- Cultivate a positive, values-driven culture, centred on dignity, respect, and compassion, reinforcing best practices across our organisation

About You
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for leadership, clinical excellence, and supporting outstanding care.
Requirements
You will have:
- Current Registered Nurse status with a valid NMC PIN
- Proven track-record in senior nursing leadership or comparable roles, such as Clinical Lead/Deputy Manager
- Deep knowledge of clinical governance, CQC guidance, and healthcare regulatory requirements
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- The confidence to drive teams, implement changes, and make effective decisions
- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred “warm” care—proven by your existing practice and experiences
