About The Role
At Barchester, as a Regional Clinical Development Nurse, you’ll lead, support, and continuously improve the clinical governance and quality of care for residents across the following regions:
- Dudley
- Lichfield
- Birmingham
- Shrewsbury
- Kidderminster
- Stourbridge
- Worcester
- Ludlow
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the performance of each home to ensure they meet the highest clinical standards.
- Reviewing the clinical governance database and KPIs monthly, analysing results and identifying practical strategies to comply with regulations.
- Collaborating closely with the Regional Director, improvement specialists, and senior clinical staff to drive continuous improvement in standards.
- Implementing key actions—such as organising new training, attracting senior clinical staff, or conducting clinical investigations—to address challenges.
- Using leadership skills and passion to deliver exceptional care that makes a tangible difference to residents.

Travel requirement: This role operates on a regional basis, so a willingness for regular travel is essential.
About You
To succeed as a Regional Clinical Development Nurse at Barchester, you should have:
- You must be a Registered Nurse (RGN), with current NMC registration.
- Continued Professional Development (CPD) to maintain clinical credibility.
- A strong understanding of current regulatory requirements in care homes.
- Relevant care home experience and proven ability as a confident clinical mentor (including newly-qualified nurses).
- Excellent leadership skills, a sharp analytical mind, and the ability to:
- Share knowledge effectively
- Build strong relationships
- Deliver on strategic action plans for improved results
