Director of Practice and Clinical Services

Lead, Inspire and Make Your Mark in a Thriving Small Animal Practice

Salary up to £85,000 DOE, plus a Welcome Bonus of up to £3,000 and a Relocation Allowance of up to £3,000

About Inspring Vet Care

At inspring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we deliver the care of over 2 million animals, driving our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a true leadership role while staying focused on excellent clinical care.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Practice and Clinical Services to join Holmefield Vets, a two-site, highly respected small animal practice set in semi-rural Brayton, South of York.

Ideal for an experienced vet looking to shape the future of a well-established practice while maintaining hands-on clinical work.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers the best of both worlds: 80% practical clinical work and a leadership role, including:

  • Hands-on clinical work: Work on varied caseloads such as consults, surgery and emergency care in two busy practice sites.
  • Leadership & team development: Support and mentor colleagues, junior vets, and new graduates, guiding clinical decision-making and fostering confidence.
  • Strategic influence: Shape the growth, standards and culture of the practice, driving clinical improvements and sustainable development.
  • Cross-site coordination: Ensure consistency in clinical standards, governance, and operations across two sites.
  • Leadership & culture: Set the strategic direction and lead teams in client experience, business performance and operational excellence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
