Clinical Endoscopist Lead
Clinical Endoscopist Lead South East Endoscopy Training Academy NHS England
The South East Endoscopy Training Academy is recruiting a Clinical Endoscopist Lead as a secondment on a fixed-term basis (until 31 March 2027). The role offers part-time flexibility (1–2 days per week) with an option for job sharing.
Note: "Clinical Endoscopist" refers to nurses and allied health professionals trained to perform endoscopy procedures.
### About the Role
The post holder will support NHS England’s South East Cancer and Diagnostics Programme, leading the development and enhancement of the South East Endoscopy Training Academy.
Key Objectives:
- Shape and execute the education and training strategy for clinical endoscopists.
- Identify training gaps and maximise regional workforce expansion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for trainees and their mentors.
- Develop regional peer support networks for endoscopy teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to sustain training programmes beyond the pilot phase.
- Ensure consistent regional monitoring and audit of training standards.

### Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on evolving regional training programmes.
- Co-ordinate multi-professional events, including large group training sessions.
- Facilitate cross-organisational partnerships within the South East.
- Help embed long-term training initiatives in local health services.
- Act as the lead for quality assurance and ongoing programme evaluation.

### Additional Information
- The role arises from integration plans between NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care (full integration expected by March 2027).
- Staff appointments subject to NHS onboarding via Electronic Staff Record (ESR) if incumbent within the NHS.
- No visa sponsorship available.
- Office-based roles require at least 40% workplace attendance (unless otherwise agreed).
