Clinical Fellow (ST4-7/post-CCT) in Uro-Gynaecology & Perinatal Pelvic Health

This is a whole-time post for a Clinical Fellow (ST4-7) at the Royal United Hospital Bath. Specialist training will be provided in urogynaecology including specialist clinics (urogynaecology, continence and pessary), urogynaecology surgery both inpatient and ambulatory, perinatal pelvic floor clinics and multidisciplinary meetings alongside urology and colorectal specialists.

There will be a focus on gaining competencies in operative urogynaecology, urethral bulking and intravesical Botox, as well as working closely with our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a core member of the urogynaecology team
  • Manage patients under direct and indirect consultant supervision
  • Lead on quality improvement projects within the service with consultant oversight

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in the UK at registrar level is essential
  • Candidates with previous experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who wish to have further training in all aspects of urogynaecology and perinatal pelvic health

On-Call Commitment

  • Resident on-call (‘1 in 16’) covering obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Doctors on the middle grade rota are contracted to cover each other during absence on annual and study leave

Research and Development

  • Research interests are encouraged
  • Successful candidate would be required to deliver quality improvement initiatives

Teaching and Learning

  • Expected to take part in teaching midwives/nursing staff and junior medical staff
  • Regular departmental meetings and research links with the University of Bath, University of Exeter and through the Bath School of Postgraduate Medicine
