Are you an enthusiastic ophthalmologist looking to develop advanced skills in glaucoma within one of the UK's leading ophthalmic services?
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and ambitious Clinical Fellow in Glaucoma for a 12-month fixed-term appointment based across Western Eye Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital. This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in the diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of glaucoma within a high-volume tertiary referral service
About the Role
The Successful Candidate Will Join a Highly Regarded Glaucoma Team Providing Specialist Care To a Diverse Patient Population Across North West London And Beyond. The Post Is Designed To Provide Advanced Experience In All Aspects Of Glaucoma Management, Including
- Glaucoma outpatient clinics
- Virtual glaucoma services
- Laser procedures
- Cataract surgery in patients with glaucoma
- Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)
- Surgical exposure to trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage devices
- Multidisciplinary working alongside consultants, specialist nurses, optometrists and allied healthcare professionals

The Post Holder Will Be Involved In
- Out-patient care of Glaucoma patients
- To be involved in their ad hoc care and emergencies and to be available for advice when off site.
- To undertake A&E sessions at the Western Eye Hospital
- To maintain good communication with GP, optometrists, hospital clinicians and other allied professionals
- To provide teaching to medical students, other junior doctors, optometrists
- To assist in academic and pharmaceutical research activities within the department
- To assist in the management and development of the clinical service
