Clinical Governance Manager - Brighton
Brighton Hospital | Nursing | Permanent | Full time | Up to £53,000 per annum depending on experience
37.5 hours per week
As Clinical Governance Manager at our Brighton Hospital you will provide strong leadership and support in maintaining safe & high-quality care delivery to our patients and beneficiaries. You will work closely with the hospital Clinical Directors, senior clinical leaders, and key regional & national stakeholders across the organization to facilitate clinical excellence, evidence-based care, and fulfilment of Nuffield Health’s charitable purpose.
You will be a registered healthcare professional (NMC) with a proven history in the clinical environment and be educated up to degree/post graduate level in a clinical discipline. Qualifications in organizational governance e.g. ISO9001 auditor or equivalent is valuable but not essential.
We are looking for someone who can develop productive relationships with strong teams, identify improvement opportunities, influence change, and get results. Experience in clinical governance and quality assurance is essential. You will have excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail and be able to work proactively and efficiently.
As our Clinical Governance Lead, you will:
- Champion the organization's brand values.
- Drive the continuous improvement of our hospital’s clinical services by:
- Appraising audit data and outcomes with a focus on meaningful change.
- Analyzing incidents & complaints with a focus on ‘closing the loop’.
- Driving & embedding the Hospital Quality Improvement Plan.
- Listening to our patients and key service users to inform the way we care.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that highlight successes and opportunities for improvement and development.
- Engage with the hospital senior leadership team to inform management of risk and opportunities.
- Ensure the hospital is aligned with regulatory expectation and patient safety initiatives.
- Manage a contemporaneous hospital risk register with a focus on risk reduction.
- Inform and develop local & national policy.
- Provide advice, guidance and subject matter expertise on governance processes to all those involved in the leadership of clinical care.
- Drive & maintain contribution to PROMs, NJR, UKHSA surveillance.
- Provide infection prevention leadership and guidance or work effectively with the existing hospital lead.
- Provide health & safety leadership and guidance or work effectively with the existing hospital lead.
- Support the achievement & maintenance local & organizational accreditation e.g. ISO9001.
