About the Role

Are you a Dynamic, ambitious Home Manager looking to take the next step in your career?

Shaw Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading Health and Social Care providers, is recruiting for a proven Home Manager to oversee their state-of-the-art care facilities. Your role will centre around delivering high-quality nursing and care services that empower residents to live full, independent lives, grounded in our core values of Wellness, Happiness, and Kindness.

Based at New Elmcroft, a 60-bedded, modern care home (Bright, spacious, residential setting, opened in 2008), you’ll work closely with the local community, GPs, and care professionals to shape a bespoke care experience tailored to individual needs.

Objectives

As Head of Service, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Team Motivation

    • Use authentic leadership, role-modelling, and inspirational skills to drive excellent care quality
    • Take 24-hour accountability for resident safety, well-being, and quality-of-life improvements
    • Foster independence and choice for service users
  • Regulatory Compliance & Operational Excellence

    • Ensure full compliance with CQC inspectors and NMC guidelines
    • Maintain financial performance, resource efficiency, and high occupancy levels
    • Manage budgets to deliver measured KPIs
  • Resident-Centric Model

    • Empower residents to control their own finances where possible
    • Champion meaningful activities as part of a vibrant, engaged care environment

General Management Responsibilities

  • Financial & Strategic Oversight

    • Drive efficient budget management and KPI achievement
    • Monitor financial records carefully, especially for residents where you are the official appointee
  • Regulatory & Health & Safety Compliance

    • Ensure full adherence to legislation (e.g., environmental health, health and safety rules)
  • Staff & Resident Welfare

    • Embed a culture of meaningful engagement across the care team
    • Support residents in maximising personal autonomy

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Nurse with a valid PIN
  • Proven leadership experience managing a similar-sized facility with a diverse client group
  • Strong foundation of care ethics – caring, compassionate, and professional
  • Commitment to quality improvement in health and social care
