Senior Home Manager – State-of-the-Art Nursing & Care Facility
Location: Shoreham-by-Sea, near Brighton & Worthing | Beds: 60 (Modern Facility)
Bruce Shaw, one of the UK’s leading Health & Social Care providers, is seeking a dynamic Home Manager to lead our 60-bedded, purpose-built care home, New Elmcroft. About the Role
We are dedicating the individual lives of residents must be enhanced through collaborative work with local GPs, healthcare professionals, and the community. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering personalised care that enables residents to live as fulfilling lives as possible while ensuring operational excellence within Shaw Healthcare’s rigorous framework.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
- Role Model & Mentor: Uphold authentic leadership, role-modelling exceptional care and fostering an inspirational culture to drive high standards.
- Set and enforce phenotypic standards aligned with Shaw’s vision: “To provide the quality of care we’d want for our loved ones”.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee all hiring processes, ensuring professional treatment of candidates and seamless integration of new staff.
- Continuous Quality: Implement a clinical governance framework to sustain and improve service performance.

Operational & Financial Stewardship
- 24/7 Responsibility: Be accountable for the day-to-day running of the Service, ensuring round-the-clock care compliance and sustainment.
- Manage service budgets and financial planning to achieve stated key performance indicators.
- Sustain high occupancy rates while optimising resource allocation, including financial affiliates of residents (maintain accurate, transparent records).
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain ironclad adherence to CQC regulations and NMC guidelines to ensure legal compliance and organisational integrity.
- Oversee environmental health & safety laws, ensuring a safe residency environment for staff, users, and partners.
Resident-Centric Support
- Embed a culture of meaningful engagement, ensuring residents have independence, autonomy, and activity opportunities.
- Promote financial autonomy for residents where possible, allowing oversight or personalised financial management if designated as potency appointee.

Qualities We Seek
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Nurse with a valid NMC PIN (or equivalent regulatory registration).
- Proven management experience in direct larger residential care settings (typically 60+ beds).
- Compassion & Empathy: An innate consciousness for patient and family needs beyond utilitarian care.
- Adaptability: Commitment to Shaw’s collectivist values, ensuring care decisions echo empathy and inclusivity.
