Clinical Lead Opportunity – Tanworth Court, Solihull

Join our team! Are you an experienced Clinical Lead or experienced Nurse looking for the next step in your career?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join us at Tanworth Court in Solihull, working 38.5 hours per week across a 14-day rolling shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday (44 hours)
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (33 hours), plus on-call rotational duty

About the Role

As the Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for leading a nursing team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for all clients living within our 60-bed dual-registered nursing and residential home (specialising in frailty, dementia, and old age care).

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in clinical practice, supporting staff, and driving continuous improvement within Prime Life, our fast-growing family-run group of 62 care homes across the East Midlands, West Midlands, Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Bristol, and Lancashire.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Leadership Duties

  • Lead and oversee the management of nursing services in partnership with the Care Home Manager.
  • Supervise staff, manage skills and rotas to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of nursing care, including the home environment, and promote best practice.
  • Induct and mentor new nursing staff, provide ongoing clinical supervision, and guide student nurses if applicable.
  • Conform to NMC Code, CQC standards, and Prime Life internal policies to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
  • Develop and deliver person-centred care plans, empowering independence and personal choice.
  • Oversee medicine management, ensuring safe storage and administration of medications.
  • Audit nursing care, address discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Conduct staff appraisals, supervisions, and team meetings to evaluate and improve performance.
  • Act as a deputy for the Care Home Manager, managing building operations when necessary.
  • Provide emergency medical treatment for residents in collaboration with the nursing team.

Administrative & Accountability

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and performance reports.
  • Depersonalise issues proactively and attend team meetings, supervisions, and annual appraisals.

Person Specifications & Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Proven clinical expertise, ideally within older adult care, dementia, or frailty.
  • Current NMC registration (up-to-date PIN).
  • Experience in clinical supervision, mentorship, and manage of nursing teams.
  • Strong caring, professional, and ethos-driven approach aligned with Prime Life values.
  • Ability to deputise leadership in the Care Home Manager’s absence.
