Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary 11 months Classification: Health Professional Level 4 or Psychologist Level 4 (PN 13479)

Note: This role will be filled at either Health Professional Level 4 or Psychologist Level 4 depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

HP4 Salary: $127,597 - $141,511 (Plus 12.5% Super)

P4 Salary: $135,771 - $142,688 (Plus 12.5% Super)

Location: City Community Health Centre, 1 Moore Street, Canberra ACT 2600 / ACT Law Courts, 4 Knowles Place, Canberra ACT 2600

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the collegial Forensic Mental Health Services (FMHS).

FMHS is a unit of Mental Health, Justice Health, and Alcohol & Drug Services, Justice Health Services (MHJHADS). FMHS provides mental health care across the lifespan and across a range of settings, including a centralised community health facility, youth and adult custodial facilities, off campus community liaison, court settings, and secure inpatient units. The care provided is underpinned by the National Principles for Forensic Mental Health Services. The service aims to provide collaborative care guided by principles of Recovery and involving the consumer, their carers and other key services.

This position is for a Clinical Lead role within the community facets of Forensic Mental Health Services. The successful candidate will primarily lead the clinical operations and functions of the Mental Health Court Assessment and Liaison Service.

Community facets of Forensic Mental Health Services encompass specialist multidisciplinary tertiary mental health services that aim to provide expert assessment, knowledge, and skills to general mental health services (including community and inpatient services) and other stakeholders (including police, courts, and custodial centres) regarding treatment and support of people experiencing mental illness/disorder who are at high-risk of offending and/or those already in the criminal justice system.

As a specialist area, clinicians across Forensic Mental Health Services are provided with specialist training and clinical supervision, and are consistently encouraged to be involved in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment. Clinicians are supported to maintain continuing professional development requirements, appropriate to area of service provision, including forensic mental health-specific training, individual and group-based clinical supervision, research groups, and regular in-services.
