Clinical Lead (Neurodiversity Services)
Job Title: Clinical Lead
Location: Remote/Hybrid (as required)
Commitment: full time – 5 days a week
Reports To: Registered Manager
Salary: £65K to £70K DOE
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership, governance oversight, and service development support across our neurodiversity services. This role will play a key part in ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and the successful development of innovative neurodiversity assessment and workplace support services. Working closely with the Registered Manager, clinicians, safeguarding leads, governance teams, and operational colleagues, the Clinical Lead will help drive quality improvement, support clinical decision-making, and contribute to the growth and evolution of services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Governance & Regulatory Support
- Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, professional regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Contribute to inspection readiness, audits, evidence gathering, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical governance records and documentation to support regulatory compliance.
- Monitor clinical practice to ensure adherence to relevant professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Support incident management, learning reviews, and governance reporting processes.
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision to clinicians working within the service.
- Facilitate reflective practice and support continuous professional development.
- Support safe caseload management, complex case discussions, and appropriate escalation pathways.
- Ensure clinical documentation, risk assessments, clinical reasoning, and care recommendations meet professional and regulatory expectations.
- Promote evidence-based practice and high standards of clinical care across all service areas.

Quality Improvement & Service Development
- Participate in audit programmes, quality reviews, and root cause analysis activities where required.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, recommending and implementing service enhancements.
- Support the review and development of clinical policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Lead or contribute to service development projects, including the introduction of new clinical pathways and services.
- Support the successful launch and ongoing development of workplace neurodiversity assessment services.
Collaboration & Internal Support
- Act as Deputy Clinical Lead or delegated clinical representative for the Registered Manager when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with safeguarding leads, governance colleagues, and operational managers to maintain a safe and effective clinical environment.
- Provide specialist neurodiversity expertise to internal stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
- Translate specialist clinical knowledge into practical, accessible recommendations for employers, workplaces, and clients.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Relevant clinical qualification (e.g. Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, or equivalent).
- Current registration with a recognised professional body (e.g. HCPC, NMC, or equivalent).
- Advanced expertise in neurodevelopmental and neurodivergent conditions, including assessment approaches, functional impact, and evidence-based practice.
- Significant experience providing clinical leadership, supervision, or governance support within healthcare services.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulatory requirements, clinical governance, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to support clinicians, managers, clients, and senior leaders with confidence and professionalism.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and supervision capabilities.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience delivering neurodiversity assessments or occupational health interventions.
- Experience designing, implementing, or improving clinical pathways and services.
- Previous involvement in service start-up, innovation, or commercial service development.
- Experience leading quality improvement projects and introducing new clinical offerings.
- Understanding of workplace adjustments, vocational rehabilitation, and employment-related support for neurodivergent individuals.
- Experience working within independent healthcare or specialist assessment services.
