Clinical Lead Orthotist
Clinical orthotics leadership role
Job Overview
To provide a clinical leadership role in the delivery of Orthotic Services by:
- Developing and maintaining clinical standards in line with best practice
- Providing clinical advice to the organisation, particularly the Head of Podiatry and Orthotics
- Developing a competency-based framework for practitioners working with clients requiring orthotic devices and delivering skills-based training
- Conducting critical analysis, appraisal, and synthesis of current research outcomes and/or relevant literature to maintain practice at an expert level
Main Duties
- Develop and uphold clinical standards aligned with best practice protocols
- Advise the organisation on clinical matters, with specific support to the Head of Podiatry and Orthotics
- Create and administer a competency framework for practitioners handling orthotic devices
- Lead skills training to enhance practitioner capabilities
- Continuously evaluate and implement local and international expert research findings into daily practice

Person Specification and Shortlisting Criteria
Essential Criteria
-Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) -Comprehensive experience within Orthotics -Ability to travel between multiple sites efficiently
Desirable Criteria
- Experience gained after registration
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams
- Experience in audit or innovation initiatives in clinical practice
Registration Requirement
- Achieved and maintaining HCPC registration
Orthotics Experience
- Extensive orthotics experience is mandatory for this role
