Clinical Manager – CT (Band 8a AFC)

About the Role

  • Applications are invited for a permanent position of Clinical Manager – CT within the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB).

  • This role covers the UHDB CT service across the following locations:

    • Royal Derby Hospital
    • Queens Hospital, Burton
    • Community sites such as Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and Ilkeston Community Hospital
    • Mobile CT units at Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital in Tamworth
  • The Clinical Manager - CT collaborates closely with other clinical managers across modalities as well as administrative colleagues.

  • This is an exciting opportunity to:

    • Lead an established, dynamic team in developing Acute and Community Diagnostic Services.
    • Provide a high-quality, patient-focused CT service supporting a wide range of clinical specialties.
    • Transform and improve service delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Operational leadership within UHDB Imaging, ensuring high-quality and responsive service delivery across all locations.
  • Close collaboration with Senior Management, Clinical, and Administrative teams.
  • Management of change and service improvements, with a focus on driving innovation and excellence.
  • Engaging and developing the Dedicated Imaging Team to foster a culture of commitment and growth.
  • Supported decision-making with strong communication skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.

Requirements

  • Essential:

    • An enthusiastic, experienced Radiographer with a proven track record of:
      • Leadership
      • Innovation
      • Successful change and service improvement within a busy General CT Department
  • Key traits:

    • Willingness to develop further skills in a fast-paced, evolving clinical environment.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at senior levels.
    • A track record in managing change and team development.
