Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Clinical Negligence Solicitor | 3+ PQE | Southampton

A long-established regional firm with a genuine reputation for healthcare and clinical negligence work is looking for a 3+ PQE solicitor to join its Southampton team. The firm traces its roots back centuries, but its approach is thoroughly modern: client-focused, technically rigorous, and built around genuine partnership and development.

The clinical negligence practice is a recognised strength, handling complex claims from birth and brain injuries to cancer misdiagnosis, surgical errors, sepsis, and fatal claims. You'll work alongside experienced senior solicitors and partners who have decades of collective expertise and who are genuinely invested in developing the next generation.

What Makes This Different

This is not a volume claims factory. You will not be chasing portal cases or racing against fixed fees. The team takes on meaningful, often life-changing claims where the legal and human stakes are real.

Your Role

  • Run your own caseload of complex clinical negligence claims with proper supervision and mentorship from experienced solicitors and partners
  • Handle the full lifecycle: initial investigation, medical records analysis, instructing experts, drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, trial preparation
  • Work alongside specialists in personal injury, healthcare regulatory, and court of protection, your clients get wraparound support, not just a claim
  • Have genuine client contact, building relationships with people at some of the hardest moments of their lives
  • Learn from mentors who genuinely want to develop you, not just extract your labour

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
