Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Clinical Negligence Senior Solicitor – Cardiff (Up to £80,000)
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Senior Solicitor to join a specialist healthcare litigation team in Cardiff.
The Clinical Negligence Senior Solicitor will represent major healthcare organisations and public sector bodies in complex, high-value defendant clinical negligence matters, managing their own caseload while collaborating with senior lawyers and healthcare professionals.
The Role
- Manage a caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims, including pre-litigated and litigated matters
- Act on behalf of healthcare organisations and public sector bodies
- Conduct detailed investigations to assess liability and quantum
- Draft key legal documents including pleadings, expert reports, and correspondence
- Liaise with clients, claimants, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
- Maintain accurate case records, track critical key dates, and manage action plans
- Contribute to client development, networking, and training initiatives
- Ensure compliance with client protocols, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures

About You
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in clinical negligence or healthcare litigation
- Experience handling defendant clinical negligence claims (claimant experience also considered)
- Strong understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes
- Ability to manage a caseload of complex, high-value matters
- Strong investigative skills, particularly in reviewing medical evidence
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with clients, counsel, experts, and stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment
