Clinical Negligence Lawyer – Clinical Risk (Southampton)

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical negligence lawyer to join a leading Clinical Risk team based in Southampton. The team represents major healthcare providers and insurers, handling complex, high-value defendant clinical negligence claims.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a diverse caseload, including:
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and response letters
- Negotiating and mediating claims
- Acting as main client contact
- Providing commercially astute legal advice
- Ensuring compliance with client protocols

- Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners

What You’ll Bring
You must be a qualified solicitor with specialist experience in clinical negligence or insurance law, ideally at a national or leading specialist firm.
Key requirements:
- Familiarity with NHS Resolution panel work and a deep understanding of healthcare sector dynamics would be a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated strong technical and commercial skills, with exceptional organisational ability.
- Confidence to work independently under pressure, with a team-oriented mindset.
- Proven mentoring experience and a proactive, client-focused approach.
