Exciting Nursing Opportunity in the Division of Surgery, Cancer and Children and Young People
You will be joining a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) supported by Joint Reconstruction Consultants to provide care for adult patients undergoing knee or hip arthroplasty and those requiring post-surgery surveillance. The role covers both outpatient and in-patient departments.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with the following key requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Essential: Previous orthopaedic experience (Band 6) demonstrating expertise in specialist patient care needs
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficiency in organisational and time management
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
- Strong teaching and educational aptitude
- Commitment to upholding professional standards within the RNOH orthopaedic community
Job Summary
- Ensure patients receive high-quality, harm-free care and contribute to audit or KPI/outcome monitoring
- Support the Lead CNS in managing the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) service provision, ensuring patient-centred care
- Apply advanced nursing knowledge and skills to deliver an exceptional patient experience via specialty pathways
- Provide expert clinical leadership to nursing, administrative teams, and wider healthcare partners
- Utilise Clinical Nurse Educators to mentor staff and students
- Develop and deliver education/training for staff, patients, carers, and external stakeholders regarding service operations
- Coordinate service delivery across the Trust alongside colleagues
- Serve as the knowledge hub for all service-related issues
