Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Location: Leatherhead (with travelrequired to Redhill and other Surrey locations) Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours)
About the Role
The Children and Young People’s (CYPS) Directorate at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Mindworks East Community Hub. This opportunity suits a motivated psychologist passionate about delivering excellent psychological care to children and young people with complex mental health needs, reflecting diverse backgrounds.

- Counselling Psychologists
- Clinical Psychology trainees who anticipate HCPC registration by 2026
Responsibilities
The post-holder will:
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver specialist interventions for children and young people with:
- Complex, chronic, and/or severe mental health struggles
- Provide evidence-based psychological interventions, with expertise in:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- At least one additional therapeutic modality
- Contribute to service improvement through:
- Service evaluation
- Audit, with consideration for service-user participation
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and multi-dimensional psychological formulations
- Plan, deliver, implement, and evaluate interventions to support clients effectively

- Person-centred care:
- Actively involve children and young people in self-agency (co-developing care plans).
- Champion dignity, choice, and self-esteem, respecting racial, cultural, sexual, and religious needs/preferences.
- Adaptive communication:
- Adjust verbal and written communication styles to meet diverse client requirements.
- Risk management:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management strategies.
- Professional development:
- Advance psychology practice in divisional/team capacity.
