Clinical Pathologist
As a Clinical Pathologist, the majority of your duties involve but are not limited to, providing clients with diagnostic evaluation in the area of clinical pathology and providing necessary follow-up consultation. A high level of importance is placed on quality, timeliness, customer service, and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. This role is hybrid, working 1 or 2 days onsite in our Wetherby, UK laboratory.

In This Role:
- You are responsible for gross and/or microscopic examination of clinical pathology specimens and preparation of pathology reports in a timely manner.
- You will meet caseload and turnaround expectations.
- You are responsible for providing telephone consultations to clients.
- You consult with and assist other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality.
- You will partner with, advise, and assist laboratory personnel in proper specimen processing techniques and function as the pathologist on duty.
- You promote the growth of IDEXX by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professional relationships/contact with clients.
- You participate in the quality control programs.
- You maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.
- Time may be provided off of routine diagnostic responsibilities to allow the pathologist to engage in other professional activities as approved by management. Such activities should improve the function or professional reputation of IDEXX.

What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Board certification in clinical pathology - American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP) preferred. Applications from board-eligible pathologists are also encouraged. The candidate will be supported when studying for boards.
- You are fluent in English.
- You are familiar with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.
- You can type and use dictation equipment.
- You have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- You have a service-oriented attitude.
- You can organize and prioritize work.
- Computer skills are required.
- Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site at the Wetherby Lab at least 1 day per week.
