Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) has been a leader in mental health services, advocacy, innovation, and training for nearly a century. As one of the largest and most comprehensive nonprofit mental health agencies in Los Angeles County, we support over 19,000 low-income or no-income individuals annually. Role Overview
Job Type: Full-time Position Title: Clinical Program Manager (Adult Team Services) Salary:
- $78,000 annualised for ASW, AMFT, or APCC licensure
- $82,000 annualised for LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure (Compensation adjusted based on experience and legal requirements.)
This role reports to the Director of Adult Team Services, overseeing the coordination, supervision, and management of adult team services at our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership
- Oversee hiring, supervising, training, directing, evaluating, rewarding, disciplining, and terminating department staff in compliance with agency policy and regulations.
- Lead and mentor cock’s crew on Full-Service Partnership guidelines, ensuring alignment with MHALA standards and funding requirements.

Program Oversight & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to program documentation standards for MHALA, contracted providers, and funding sources, including 24-hour turnaround documentation where necessary.
- Track and assess programme effectiveness, ensuring objectives are met.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements through thorough documentation (e.g., intakes, discharges, 3-month reviews, KEC’s, determinants, LOCUS/CANS reports, monthly reports, and individual service plans).
Staff & Operational Support
- Support team members from leadership and ensure all decisions are publicly aligned.
- Attend planning, administrative, and community meetings as required.
- Participate in professional development activities, including research, workshops, and seminars to maintain clinical expertise.
Compliance & Reporting
- Obtain LPS designation within 6 months of employment (if applicable).
- Serve on management, quality improvement, safety committees, or other leadership teams as assigned.
- Provide emergency coverage and timely updates to the Adult Integrated Services Team.
Requirements
Licensure & Education
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)); Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (AMFT); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC); or Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
- Must hold or be eligible for a California Licensed Psychologist (LP) license.
- Waivered Clinicians are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 1 year of post-graduation clinical experience (though 3 years of psychosocial rehabilitative experience is preferred).
- Master’s degree in a human services-related field (preferred).

Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to disabled populations.
- Supervisory or leadership experience required (non-profit social service agency experience is a plus).
- Proven ability to mentor diverse teams with varying skills and professional competencies.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication, computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and bilingual (Spanish preferred but not mandatory) skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task without sacrificing productivity, and a team-oriented mindset.
Professional Competencies
- Knowledge of substance-abuse disorders, dual diagnosis, and local service resources.
- Understanding of clinical ethics, boundaries, and best practices.
- Ability to handle team conflicts with tact and work collaboratively.
- Must be initiative-driven, self-directed, and capable of working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Employment Conditions
- Must hold a valid Class C driver’s license, provide a vehicle for transportation, and submit proof of auto insurance.
- Must adhere to TB clearance and annual re-testing requirements.
- COVID-19 vaccination or booster not currently mandatory (policy subject to future updates; failure to comply may result in termination).
- Must provide verification of employment history from three past employers within the last 7 years.
