Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Clinical Psychologist based in Reading, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for patients referred through Practice Plus Group services. The role involves:

  • Using outcome measures
  • Participating in case reviews
  • Offering consultation and psychoeducation to colleagues to support holistic patient care

The Clinical Psychologist will also engage in service development activities, adhere to clinical governance and safeguarding standards, and contribute to audit, supervision, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by a recognized professional body, with current registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions in clinical settings, ideally within primary care, community, or integrated healthcare services.
  • Strong skills in clinical formulation, risk assessment, and treatment planning for a range of mental health presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written documentation, report writing, and the ability to explain complex information in accessible terms.
  • Competence in maintaining clinical records, handling confidential information, and adhering to ethical and legal standards in healthcare.
  • Experience or interest in service development, audit, quality improvement, or research to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and balance on-site and remote working requirements.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and participation in supervision.
  • Experience working with diverse patient groups and a demonstrable commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice.
