About the Role
Pride in Health is expanding its psychology capacity and is seeking an HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our remote service on a sessional, self-employed basis.
We provide affirming, person-centred healthcare for trans, non-binary and gender-diverse adults. Our approach is grounded in patient safety, informed consent, dignity, and respect.
About the Opportunity
You will primarily undertake comprehensive remote psychological assessments at the initial psychological assessment stage of the Pride in Health pathway. You will review relevant clinical information, explore psychological wellbeing and support needs, identify risk or safeguarding concerns, and prepare clear clinical reports and recommendations within your approved scope.
We are looking for a psychologist who combines sound clinical judgement with warmth, professional curiosity, and a respectful, non-pathologising approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structured, person-centred remote psychological assessments.
- Explain your role, the purpose of the assessment, and how information will be used.
- Establish informed consent and consider capacity, communication needs, and reasonable adjustments.
- Review relevant records and identify where further information is required.
- Assess psychological wellbeing, vulnerability, safeguarding concerns, risk, and support needs.
- Produce accurate, timely, and clinically defensible notes and reports.
- Recognise when remote assessment is unsuitable or when a decision should be paused, escalated, or supported by further consultation.
- Provide appropriate recommendations, safety-netting, aftercare information, or signposting.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and service improvement where appropriate.
- Work in accordance with HCPC standards, Pride in Health policies, and agreed clinical-governance arrangements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
