Clinical Psychologist (CYP ASD Service)

Clinical Psychologist – CYP ASD Assessment Specialist

This role involves delivering high-quality Children and Young People (CYP) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments as part of a clinician-led multidisciplinary team (MDT) pathway, in line with NICE guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed developmental assessments using validated tools and integrate multi-informant evidence.
  • Provide expert psychological formulations, diagnostic decisions, and high-quality written reports.
  • Communicate assessment outcomes sensitively and effectively to families and referrers.
  • Support governance, safeguarding, and service improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualified Clinical Psychologist with HCPC registration.
  • Experience in neurodevelopmental assessments with children and young people, including MDT contributions.
  • Strong report-writing and clinical reasoning skills.
    • Desirable:
      • ADOS-2 trained
      • Experience with dual diagnoses
      • Experience in service development

  • £60,000–£70,000 per year (depending on experience).
