Clinical Psychologist – Eating Disorder Team

Overview

This role spans two sites: Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Blossom House, Alder Park, Waterloo. The successful applicant will provide clinical psychology support to young people with eating disorders or ARFID, delivering assessments, interventions, and family care within a multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across Alder Hey and alternative community-based locations in Liverpool and Sefton
  • Hold full case management responsibility for patients
  • Provide assessments, interventions, and support for children, young people, and families affected by eating disorders or ARFID
  • Conduct physical monitoring in collaboration with Consultant Paediatricians
  • Participate in ongoing clinical supervision to maintain high standards of practice

Support Provided

  • Regular clinical supervision to foster best practices
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including:
    • Consultants in Psychiatry & Paediatrics
    • Family Therapy and CBT-trained therapists
    • Nursing, support workers, and psychology assistants

About the Eating Disorders Team (EDT)

Supported by Alder Hey Children's Hospital, the EDT provides:

  • Specialist care for children and young people (aged 3–18) in Liverpool and Sefton with eating disorders or ARFID.
  • Services for families, carers, and involved professionals to foster holistic support.

The team works across two locations but primarily at Alder Hey, while remote community engagements are central to the role.
