Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologist – Emotional Wellbeing Team (SEND Role)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Emotional Wellbeing Team, supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across our specialist education provisions in Cheltenham, Hereford, Worcester, and South Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist psychological expertise within a SEND Further Education setting, helping learners to achieve their educational, emotional, and social potential. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external professionals, you will deliver:

  • Psychological assessment
  • Formulation
  • Evidence-based interventions that promote wellbeing, resilience, and engagement in learning

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play an important role in:

  • Developing psychologically informed and trauma-informed practices across the organisation.
  • Providing consultation and guidance to staff.
  • Contributing to EHCP processes and supporting plans.
  • Delivering training.
  • Helping create safe, inclusive environments that enable learners to thrive and prepare successfully for adulthood.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Be registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Additional essential experience and skills include:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND, including:
    • Autism
    • Learning disabilities
    • Complex needs
  • Familiarity with:
    • Psychological assessment
    • Formulation
    • Intervention approaches
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Mental health
    • Neurodevelopmental conditions
    • Trauma
    • Safeguarding
  • Excellent:
    • Communication skills
    • Consultation abilities
    • Report-writing abilities
